i'm not an expert, but i guess there is something wrong with the settings you used to export the movie, probably the compression codec. it's a shame because it would be great to see it in better quality.

^ Considering the grain on the original, it is a negative and I think it was Tri-X, the coversion is not so bad. Mind you, I do tend to play around with the codecs and maybe I could try a better one. It was actually filmed off an A4 paper screen with my Canon Hi8 camcorder connected up to the computer. The disc recording is direct analogue to digital recording, no intermediate tape. Ifound the receipt the other day and it is 12 years old and for the same price today I could buy a super HDTV wizz bang camcorder.
