Ah thank you, a great building with some great exhibitions. I loaded up quite a few Polavision movies here before selling all my equipment last year (: Thanks VF

Hi, thanks - I guess they must think I'm mad if they even now what it is I'm holding. But I tell you my kids love it, they love the fact their Dad is a bit different with a Polavison camera, Polaroids everywhere and a Ural Russian bike with sidecar! Cheers Paul

Hi, many thanks,I try to play with as many cine films as I can, Polavision is weird but fun. I have a Nizo 481 Macro - soon to be used for a B/W film. The viewfinder once focussed for your eye should be clean and bright and so I do not know what is wrong with yours, dust, dirt, fung us?

I had the same problem with undeveloped portions of movie (but in the middle of the movie) in "waterfall". one more question how did you transfer it to digital? I couldn't get rid of the vignetting.
^
Hi, yes I think these problems are to be expected with film so much out of date, especially the developing chemicals. I simply used a Panasonic FZ 20 digital camera to shoot the polavision player screen at 10 fps with all things like ant-shake turned off as these cause problems. The camera to screen distance has to be quite close as the Polavision system is so dim due to thickeness of film medium and all the prisms and mirrors - my pair were about 18 inches away. I hope this helps? Cheers Paul

congratulations.
how do you want to develop beginning of the movie manually?
I think whole movie were exposed in the viewer when you watched it after developing.

^
Thanks, I was intending to get some of the developing chemicals from the inside of a Polavision cassette and literally remove the film and coat the back of it manually with a light brush and then return the film to the cassette. Although glued together they can be carefully split and then re-glued. Yes, when first put into the viewer the viewer rewinds the film and then with some force pulls a strip off the chemical vault in the cassette which then allows the chenical to flow down onto the now running film and develops it within about 90 secs. The trouble is with age the chemicals become like glue and as the film is playing they don't get onto the first portion in time with their now slow flow rate and you don't get a second chance! Still condering the cassette was 17 years out of date it was a miracle it worked at all:)))))))))))))))) )))
