matznet, i just bought some b&w... it seems to work. Maybe it's a way to give polanoid members some exclusive access to rare films and avoid ebay sharks from buying it all ? Let's see it that way.

and I hope that in the future more exclusive offers will be first brought to us by good ol'schlexi....

many are upset w/ polapremium? yes.
but why? seriously? as others have said, anybody who is whining
should just not shop there. keep buying from ebay and shut up!

as for the rest of us who think polapremium is the SHIT! this is a great time. i mean a large stock of TZ! sadly all the 600 b/w is gone as well as the choco80. but for those of us lucky enough to be to be able to buy some of this marvelous film for 20euro. and as the rumors are saying, fantastic one of a kind films, that never been seen, shot, or experienced by a living being. totally awesome!!

i say we should celebrate! long live polaroid, well at least for now!

AND REMEMBER. EVERYONE WHO IS COMPLAINING, TRY NOT TO BUY ANY OF THE NEW AMAZING FILM WHEN POLAPREMIUM HAS IT IN STOCK!

arne, i did not say ridiculous prices, but "quite reasonable", wich is very different. Just compare with recent prices on ebay for TZ or Chocolate and that's it. They make money with our passion ? yes they do, and that's good. We all buy stuff for our passion to people who sell them. At least, their are passionate as we are. They raise a bit prices ? Everyone does, even your bakery.
As long as Polapremium will have those films, things will calm down on ebay. After that, we'll be in hell again. Lucky they're here. If not, where to go ? Let's enjoy it right now.

I am curious about what we will see on PolaPremium's launch day (also my credit card is wondering what will happen..). Nevertheless the memory of the last Unsaleable's sales and the recent Ebay's auctions leave me a bit doubtful about all this.

I promised more info on the polaroidic goods I found, so here we go:

Just found out that there are, apparently, two different filter sets available for the Image system. I'm not sure which of the two it is that I came across, but I guess it's the Special Effects kit. I only had a glance at the filters and they looked similar to these: »link - if anyone's seriously interested in getting their hands on it, I wouldn't mind going there again to check if it's the "right" one (if it's still for sale then, that is!).

Re: the money: I don't have a PayPal account set up, so whoever wants any of the stuff I wrote about would have to either gimme the money in person (I'm located in Vienna..) or transfer it directly to my bank account. Now I know that international money transfers can be QUITE expensive, so.. yeah, I dunno. I said I'd trade the cable release for equally cheap stuff - mebbe you got a roll of cheapo 35mm or 120 slide film lying around which produces nice results when cross-processed? Mebbe even one that's not readily available in Europe? Don't care for the brand (or non-brand) or if it's expired or not.. as long as it's good for xpro. :)

The filter set for the Spectra is a bit trickier, since it's quite a bit more expensive.. uhm. Maybe we could make some sort of Polaroid-film-ordered-for-me-via-unsaleable vs. filter kit deal? Or you find someone from Europe for whom transfering money to my bank account is cheaper than for yourself? Or maybe you don't care at all about money transfer fees.. haha.

As I said, the used SX-70 they had for sale was a bit expensive for my taste, but I could go and get that one as well. Could even test it with an empty film pack to make sure it's working. (Would even test it with a new pack if I didn't have to pay for it myself..) Didn't have a really close look at it, but I think to remember the fake leather had quite a few scratches on it..

Oh right, something else I found and bought: a camera strap that looks *exactly* like the one on my SX-70 Sonar Autofocus (even the buckle for length adjustment is the same) except for the clips at the ends. They are slightly broader than the regular ones and DO NOT fit onto the camera strap "hinges" of my SX-70s (by a millimeter or so), so now I dunno if the strap I have is not an original one or if there are other Polaroid cameras whose camera straps have bigger clips on them.. ?! If the latter is the case, I'm more than ready to part with it!


Anyway, I don't really have anyone to "vouch" for me as a "reliable seller" or whatever, but hey, webbo knows me in person - ask him for his opinion on me!! ;P

Uhh, hm, I believe to have seen some sort of off-site forum for us all being linked to from polanoid.net a while back.. but maybe I'm imagining things?

Thing is: I found a (used) cable release for the SX-70 for super cheap, thus had to buy it immediately even though I already own one myself. Was thinking that maybe one of you would like to have it? I don't want to go through the hassle of selling it on eBay, besides, I'd prefer it to find a good new home with one of you polanoidic peeps! Does anyone want it? It cost 2 Euro and I'd sell it at face value (+ postage) or trade it for something equally cheap. (Oh right, and: I already tested it because there's some weird black stuff on the metal bits of the "plug" part of the cable release - corrosion? - and/but it works fine!)

Aaaaalso: Found a (used) filter kit for the Image/Spectra system at the same shop and IIRC, those filters aren't easy to come by, so I was wondering if anyone was interested in me buying it for them? I have no use for it myself since I don't own a Spectra, and I also don't know if 42 Euro is a fair price, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

(I found the used SX-70 Sonar Autofocus they also had for sale somewhat overpriced. Got mine for cheaper on eBay - they are asking 45 Euro for it - but would be willing to buy that one as well if anyone is interested.)

i think rodeo should sell shares on that film...lets say a hundred shares worth a dollar each, and then sell the actual film on ebay, dividing the profits among the shareholders. ..and going for a federal bailout if she loses money on this...:-)
