Time to sell the 180, I ship internationally, and although this is a bit of a advert there is a part of me that would love for a Polanoider to take possession of it, at least it would get used by someone of sound mind and taste..... see what yer think........

Alright ValleyForge.....

right where to begin............

Fetters Bros. gave everyone in the Polaroid factory their 90 days notice and they all walked out. I have talked of a contact that I have in a company who is part of a consortium to buy the Polaroid factory and continue production. Well for them this is a disaster.... I have to ring him tomoorow as he flew out to Boston last Sunday to try and sort something............

Fuji have pretty much stated that they will be continuing production of their pack films (both 3.25 x 4,25 and 4x5) for the near future. Indeed it would not make sense if they bowed out now as they are about to profit from Polaroid's demise immensely.

All these 110 conversions take that pack film.... therefore you do not need to give it a miss. Indeed the longer that you leave it the more chance that you are missing (out).

These 110 conversions come in two formats.

4x5.... these are the ones down by Littman and Razzledog. They have Graflok type backs put on them. This means that even if pack film were to suddenly demise you could still use Kodak and Fuji Quikloads/Readyloads (using a dedicated holder or a Polaroid 545 back) and 4x5 sheet film. So they are still worth it.

3.25x4.25..... these are the ones that Fourdesigns (before they rolled up) used to do. If you type 'Polaroid Converted' into Ebay on the international setting you will also still find that they are freely available :-

These will take Fuji FP-100c as mentioned before and they are great. My two favourite convertors are Jason Wolfe (can give you e-mail but website down) and Antione's friend..... kym1971spurs (ebay I.D.).

These cameras can be expensive but can be found at reasonable prices..... you can also find instructions to do your own.

@ Antoine

don't tell me.... Hunts Video and Photographic.... yeah I bought that too, sold half of them and made a nice profit.

The FP-1 keep and eye on a camera seller called 'camera.japan' on Ebay he gotten 2 in in that last 30 days so he is obviously targeting them.

I have to say I would love an FP-1 or a Konica Instant Press.

@ Antoine....

I too am attempting to begin conversions and hope to sell them, I am about to put the first one together.

That seller on Ebay I saw and his conversion work looks good.... but I would advise caution for 2 reasons.....

1. He bolts a Polaroid 550 back onto the back of a 110.... which is fine but all you can use if Polaroid/Fuji instant 4x5 film. The only current 4x5 instant film made is FP-100c and if Fuji decide to pull the plug.... then your conversion is a museum piece.

2. He keeps the Ysarex 127mm lens on.... which does cover 4x5 but it struggles..... better to change it if you can.

Other than that though I do like the look of that gentlemans conversions, he does a good job at a fair price.

For Valley & else interested, there is on eBay a gentleman who build 4x5 converted Polaroid 110B, generally 110A with 110B rangefinder, it makes six month that we are talking together, he is building the last one for me, as i was always buying something else and wondering about an future (as the Littman) "convertible conversion" using different backs, that there is not the case but cheapest than the Littman and very well made cause the most interesting thing is that the 110 camera isn't cut in its body!:

Joel ton appareil c'est un 250 Converti avec une optique de 110A ou B, c'est assez rare et t'a la qualité du 110 qui a une optique piquée, plus que celle des 180,190 mais que j'aime aussi cependant pour leur douceur.

so right now i´m trying to get new fpacks, and come up with a new concept

maznet - I have bought those Fuji films from all over the world, they normally arrive in about 5 days. Unfortunately from a postage point of view you live in Italy which has a third world postage service, I just waited six weeks for an item from Italy and many Ebay sellers just refuse to ship to Italy. I love your country but your postal service stinks real bad:)))) Hurrah VF

matznet 2008-04-11 // 12:55:06

i wish unsaleable will start to sell fuji packfilms soon :S
otherwise these lovely holga backs will be not so convenient: in italy fuji instant films (especially those beautiful bw) are not so easy-to-find :( and ebay's too-long shipping times have fed me up.
