Thanks for reminding me, Kay. I just checked the pics and they are still disintegrating, despite being in a bag of delicious Italian rice. Though they could be on one of the older PX 600 versions. It might work better on the newer versions. Still, at the moment, I can only recommend that recipe for purely culinary purposes, I'm afraid.

On another subject: Thanks everyone for encouraging me to get addicted to an expensive and heavy medium. This was just the excuse I needed to impoverish myself in a slap-up eBay-fest. HURRAY!

@VF- If you're into conspiracy theories, though common sense would say Polaroid's days were numbered. You didn't have to be in the know to figure that one out...

However, I think it's a bit far fetched to foresee that plans/attempts to save it were to fail, that venture capitalists would get on board to help, that the factory would come up for lease, etc. If all this had been known I think the pack-film machines would have been saved.

It depends on what your emphasis on the site's function is, surely? The function has never been for me to have contact with the webmaster and doc - yes they are busy doing other things, but that's not the point of being here. My reason has been to have contact with everyone that takes the pictures, and to see beautiful things - and that's what it continues to provide. So why is that a zombie site?

I don't quite get why you continue to overlook what the site does offer? I don't think Polaroid will ever be as widespread as Lomography - it costs too much.

I know you've decided you hate Lomography as much as you hate Macs because you see it as overpriced bandwagon jumping - but it wasn't so long ago you were very pleased about your Blackbird camera. Now if that isn't a piece of overpriced plastic crap, I don't know what is. I was given one as a gift and it went on ebay a week later after one film.

My point being- you can be all high and mighty but you're just as susceptible to canny marketing ploys as anyone else. I just don't think Polanoid is one of them.
