That's funny and strange Julie to read your message because I was just watching a movie in my sofa while thinking if someone at Polanoid knew any businesses that make Archival grade simple boxes precisely designed for Polaroid 600 films.

Or if someone on Polanoid knew someone on the Web who propose custom services for Archival Grade Storing ?

But Julie to precisely answer your question...I personally bought a little plastic album made by the internationally well known Japenese store MUJI.
In fact I had to "buy it now" on Ebay for less than $20 and from someone located in Hong Kong because I believe this product is not distributed in every country where MUJI stores are implanted.

Otherwise you may look up on Ebay...and you can also invest in a Vintage SX70 photo album with hard cover etc etc
But ! well... I have seen somes bided over $100.

Good luck and Bonne Chance !
F

PS: But I am almost sure that the MUJI album is not Archiving Grade...free chemicals etc.
I am even not sure if Polaroids films which mades of chemicals and all kinds of plastic and gels really require this type of archiving standart.

Dear Artpunk we are all very crazy psychedelico ultra-mega BUSY ....all over the world no one or no "Busyness" is more important than the one of someone else...ultimately there is no monarchy of the "busyness". We all try to do our best...

But Its a matter of "listening" or considering words of others.... it could be also a question of "education", cyber "education and courtesy" :) Ah ah ah !! :))

As polanoid user and member I was just submiting not even requesting anything.
Now the fact I never received any reply is not a big deal for me, the word tolerance has to me somes sort of meanings, I learned also that very often "Our times is the times of Others" so ! I am use to it....
Artpunk you send an email to someone, he don't reply you, this situation is somehow similar to trying to talk to someone you don't know in the street but he is ignoring you.
Art punk what usually do you think when this is happening to you ?

I am not an expert in plugin technology I am just a user of this image enhancer but I think its something peoples call "embending" or something like that....its a partnership....

But Artpunk did you install the plugin on your browser ?
Did you try it ? »link
Experience it but it don't look like very complex for the webiste who decide to be "Piclens capable"

Facebook, google image, myspace, ebay are Piclens capable

Ah Jay, if only you knew... in real life, I have a voice like a sort of drunk, underwater Geordie version of Barry White, after breathing in helium gas. Or so I'm told.

Frederic, Frederic, Frederic. I was only teasing - you mad, foolish, suddenly-disconcertingly-bushy-looking creature! I love French punctuation. I adore it. I collect it and sometimes, on dark and lonely nights, I get it out and stroke it secretly whilst caressing myself with an old wooden spoon that was once licked by one of Brigitte Bardot's budgies - at least, so the nice gentleman on eBay assured me. (Look - I'm even going to leave this bracket open as a gesture of tolerance towards punctuation, in all its shapes and forms.

(Jay, imagine me saying that in that voice.

remember that in the end, unsaleable was selling the last sx70 films at a very high price
why would they act differently ? Just like any of us, they will try to make the bigger money out of the situation. let's just hope that they will also find solution or deals with fuji and polaroid to make it last as long as possible.
And yes, let's hope they do not answer us at the time because their scouting north Siberia to find an old atomic shelter to store as much as instant film as they can
;-)
... and we'd better start savings if we want to be able to buy them when the time comes.
As for the cameras, I think that those who really need to know (the strongest addicts) will know quite rapidly and I do not think prices will rise again. I bought two modified cameras two weeks ago, I did not even get them yet, but they already are worth half their (very expensive) price. All our beloved sx70 and 180 will soon be just like J66, 110B and 95 now : haunting ebay pages looking for someone to adopt them without any other idea than building a museum

I think that the greatest pity about this is that Polaroid are so lost that they cannot see a future for this wonderful product. It is Polaroids loss of confidence in the product that is so disheartening... It is a different format to film and digital and is still the only true instant format that exists. I think that with the right marketing, allowing bulk buying discounts and price cutting of a unit (I mean U have bought loads of film in the past 12 months and all of it on Ebay as I cannot afford the Calumet prices... yet if the company would make an effort I would do to) and the pairing down the products to a hardcore of popular stocks, then it could continue.... unfortunately the company is privately owned and they do not appear to have a very inspirational team there. I think that Edwin Land would turn in his grave.

There is enough people worldwide to sustain an interest in this format and keep it going... what Polaroid needed to do was cut the unit price and to do that you cut production costs and how do you do that? Well it is not a popular thing, but it is an economic reality, you move the factory to a developing country.... I mean factories in Europe and the U.S..... which large corporation does that? Get an effing business manager in there!!!!!!!

Yeah I am a bit depressed by all this news and am unsure how this will manifest itself for 4x5 Polaroid freaks.... I mean that FP-100C45 will presumably go on, but does this news render all 500/545/545i/545Pro backs utterly useless?

Does the demise of Polaroid Instant FIlm signal the way for Fuji or does it mean that Fuji is more likely to continue production?

As a man who has many Polaroid cameras I am wondering whether to start putting them on the market do that I maximise the amount of money and re-invest in a semi decent digital. The economic politics here is something that is weighing on my mind as I have a lot invested in really good quality cameras.

I was about to start converting Polaroid 110's to 4x5 cameras (indeed the last few months I have been collecting bits) I am not sure whether to go ahead with that now as what made that a viable product was coupling it with Polaroid 4x5 backs.... without those 4x5 photography will become a fiddly affair and one that is only pursued by professionals and a hardcore of amateurs.
