re. blackmagicman / mozart2aesop - yes, I appear to have been scammed by one of his Ebay auctions too.
What's particularly galling is that I made contact with him here first, but he was just as happy to cheat me as he would any Ebay stranger.
He's not selling anything now - guess he decided to just take the money and run. Several hundred dollars worth, judging by the number of people complaining on his feedback...
Guess he's more interested in wasting the film on his 'art' than sending it to people who have paid good money for it.

been super busy for the last few days... got loads of packfilm from an ebay auction, so will be shooting more soon. i am selling some of it (665, 667, 689, etc) as well as the Polavision I picked up, so check it out if you are interested.
jenelle: i actually think the SX-70 blend color is different from 600. the filters on the blend film are re-usable, and when i put them on a 600 cartridge, i think there is a difference in the results, but i haven't done any kind of strict side-by-side experiments with the two films. it would actually make me sad to know that polaroid was charging twice as much for a dark piece of plastic...

Hi,
For all those of you wanting to use 600 film in your SX-70's here is a very inexpensive way to correct for film asa rating via ND filter;-

I make no comment at to who's method is better but the more ways that SX-70's can be used with today's film the better:)))))))))))

would anyone around here be interested in a Polavision camera? If so, please drop a note in my guestbook (along with what you think iut is worth). I may have one with the TWI light that appears to be working for sale and I would rather give you guys a chance to get it before putting it up on ebay.

Last week my $20, San Francisco garage/sidewalk sale SX-70 died, just as I was adapting it for 600 film by taking out the ND filter, etc... It worked in the evening but died sometime during the night. The next morning, it wouldn't take any pictures, or even make a noise. It was in trouble-shooting this that I found Polanoid.net. I had a bad case of polaroidus interruptus. It looked beyond my ability to repair, so I looked for another camera.
Ebay is crazy with sx-70s and even crazier with buyers for them. The parts or repair cameras are selling for over $75. I turned to craigslist los angeles and low and behold! $50 and I didn't haggle - for the same Sonar OneStep I had. I bought film on the way home from picking it up, along with a sheet of 4stop ND gel, and a pair of wire snippers to take off the nubs - I couldn't wait. But then! The photos got stuck in the rollers! Another frantic Saturday of troubleshooting before I realized that I could cannibalize the two bad cameras to make one good one - especially since the problem was with the only component of this camera I could easily switch. And it works! And so does the gel, for now. I would say I could sleep again, but now I'm hyped up about taking pictures.
My "new old stock" case of flash bars purchased on ebay should arrive day after tomorrow!
