It's magic. That's the only explanation.
Turning the camera upside down has less of an impact with a regular camera. The polaroid frame is so strong it dictates to us which way up and down is. Turning the picture upside down still looks the same way up. Here it's used so unexpectedly with such good effect. I think it's brilliant.

I want this big on my wall. It reminds me of the days of when I was a single-celled organism and life wasn't so complicated..
