franck (Paris, FR)

+001+

Franck is an exceptional photographer, innovative and fresh in every single image. Digitally removing the border of each polaroid might be sad but at least allows us to see the concepts in larger versions.

I am fond of his latest coloures which wonderfully support his poetical, surreal and fairytale-like narrations, showing a naive world reduced to the mainsubject and thus extracting the rest of the surrounding, the rest of the world.

lo-fi (Taipei, TW)

+002+

One of my closest friends and inspirations on Polanoid.net. I am thankful to have met him and his family through this internt platform which connects and binds each of our souls so well. The images connect, the words connect and build a whole new unity in the net.
i-nan kuo is special. His works create moments which give two seemingly contradictive expressions immediately at first sight, simultaneously. This is so surreally dreamlike / this is everyday life, everyday love.
I guess that's what fascinates me the most about his work, this particular contradiction. His beautiful and shy but confident wife he shows rarely, but if he does, then we feel like he caught the essence of her in that very moment. His son seems to be right out of those - to us western populations - exotic fairytale myth movies we see lately and can experience from the 60s on. He seems like a mythical little creature, epitomizing shyness, freedom, curiousity as well as "innocence", which is indeed an overuesd term but here suits the subject, as the word rarely does.

But that is only one part of his work and I do not want to "reduce" his images to that field, as he is very experimental, also in combining images and testing various ways of exposure, and the content also keeps treasures of roots, history and culture.

Wonderful work. Great combinations especially.

nicole (Basel, CH)

+005+

Nicole is a very giving young woman, blessing us with comments and - in my case - supporting me ever since she came here.
I am still uncertain what to think about her work. I do enjoy it alot, that is not the question, but it is difficult to see a soft line between the images, which, as stated before, is not necessary! Not at all! Her snapshots and fun photos (love them!) ar mixed with very promising artistical approaches and wonderful coloures and moods. I guess you just find "everything" in her gallery, which makes her so special, go and visit her in her gallery.

Urizen (Berlin, DE)

Here comes a name many people of you already know and immediately connect with fiercy, hot, red, expressive, intense and definitely intensely creative polaroids, using special effects, personally developed techniques to receive coloures, patterns, ornaments and scary effects. This "polanoid devil" knows how to use his camera and leaves most of us drooling over his spicy images. Not everything is my personal taste but that does not take from the obvious enthusiasm and intensity found in his pctures!

artpunk (Melbourne, AU)

+007+

After watching his images over the past weeks I realized how devoted, loving, caring, passionate(!) and creative he is. Of course it is obvious right away but I was not aware of the degree of love and almost childlike enthusiasm and creativity he puts in each imagera he creates. The borders between art vs. family portrait is thin and often easily transgressed with beautiful shades of intimacy, closeness, observance, great care and usually an immense and almost ideal happiness that you wonder if his life can really be true. The number of images as well as the amount of friends, visitors and comments he receives speak for itself. His devotedness to his loved ones as well as to the polaroid medium seems unbreakable, seems endless, which is appreciated by most polanoiders who got to know him a little more.
His humour and smilies as well as the way he writes exceed my personal bearing-border ;-p
You are wonderful artpunk and ya know ir, blue-assed fly :-D

This young soul...is a very..captivating, disturbing and intense polaroider. I find it very difficult to write about him as I do not want to bare, strip and expose his soul, or what I see of it in his artwrk, nor do I want to misinterpret or overinterpret too much. His images are very deep, very right-in-the-face, give no space to hide but accuse the world offensively and without any mercy. His soul seems so broken, in such deep pain that I sometimes wonder if he needs a hand to help him ot of his darkness. His endlessly disturbing self destructive portraits, collages, taped and burnt, painted, brutally reduced and re-combined always leave me helpless and worrying. The impact of his visuals, the intensity with which he binds the recipient to his eyes, his words, his colures and brutal motives is striking. Most of that particular kind of imagery are not my personal preference but they do touch, to poke, to scratch and tear at your mind and soul, which is what his work seems to be about and thus he succeeds no matter if you like it or not.
he is very kind and cares for other polanoiders as well, very communicative so don't hesitate to approach him in his guestbook. :-)

Other work that I enjoy "more" than his self destructive theme (no offense!) is the lyrical yet triste approach at objects:

jillog (Washington DC, US)

+009+

I cannot help it; I love her imagery. It seems so raw yet poetical, which is one of my favourite mixes in photography. Her coloures as well as the used media in general are very varied yet do show a line that goes through her whole work. Experimenting with patterns and adding lines and ornaments to her images she succeeds in capturing a very special feel. A lot of her images are selfportraits in most multifaceted nuances. She is also a great supporter of my images ever since I came here which I appreciate alot. Her heart is large and she will welcome you if you stop by and take a look at her capturing work.

Her work will touch your soul. She has a gift.

colourspace (Warwick, GB)

+010+

The blue lilac cyan combination always leaves me breathless, touching just the spots inside my colour-fetish :-)
Her portraiits of seemingly unimportant details, of her breathtakingly beautiful daughters..these are images that make you linger for a moment, breathe calmly and enjoy the moment of silence she captures in most of her images. Her work is endlessly poetical, her captures usually dreamy yet not fairytale like, rather idealizing a raw moment and giving it a special place in memory.

GONE
Miss her.
She knew my soul best, I fear..

jolipunk (Paris, FR)

+012+

Wonderful work. Quite symbolic in some images, and conceptual. Others seem very humerous and spontaneous.

missingshow (Cardiff, GB)

+013+

I think missingshow and I share a weird connection when it comes to concepts and ideas, though our work is so different. His artworks need time and thought to be appreciated and understood, to sink in..to make you feel what the picture conveys so perfectly. His love for detail, colour and softness is wonderful! The gallery shows modern art combined with an ancient touch, surreal or absurd concepts as well as very easy-to-understand imagery, which is a wonderful mix to enjoy his gallery. I recommend you take a look at his work.
Interesting is that his work made me think he was female, which is how he and I got in contact in the first place and share a little chat here and there now and then. The portraits (especially the early ones) made me feel like they were shot by a woman, they seem so sensible, so intimate yet not blunt or bold, they are lyrical in a very open, non-idealizingh (at least not often) and touching way. He captures sensitivity and fragility in strong women and has a style of his own in general. I admire his work, look up to him and also recommend his other-media-artwork despite his polaroids. An artist in his soul!
My favourites that made me love his work:

gesenu73 (Forli, IT)

+014+

Wonderful mosaictechnique! Sadly very very inactive!!!!!! He creates great work and inspires me to try the technique (also performed differently by missingshow above). Hope you enjoy the few very well done images to be found in his gallery!

elwen (Rennes, FR)

+019+

His work..so poetic..endlessly beautiful..check out the blue ones and dream! His oceanic images were what made me stop in track and enjoy. He has a gift to capture everything so delicately "simple" that it seems so easy, almost like a snapshot though the details tell you differently; they are so balanced that you realize everything is well organized (not as in ages to position, but he does intuitively find the perfect composition).

stOOpidgErL (Detroit, US)

+020+

Funny to find people here, whom you know for ages from elsewhere on the net.
Am curious to see what she does in the polaroid world, I only know her digital images.

So, she developed a very patch-work like work, tries to crazy wherever she can, and succeeds. She has very special concepts, which seem naive but depending on how you look at it, are not. You need to scrape of the surface to get her images. I personally especially love her altered, painted images like
which shows her comical yet deep and partly disturbing approach to human being.
Love what she has uploaded so far!

stEVE (Edinburgh, GB)

So, he shares a problem I have (which I won't share now, it is enough he did) and see, his work is so varied and unpredictable that that reason alone is reason enough to check his work out frequently!! And thing is, there are more reasons, as he is creative, witty and definitely innovative as well...let alone he just got new cams..stay tuned for what he will do! Especially convincing in my eyes is this series: called Glue

irishfish (Paris, FR)

+023+

Great work!

Gary-M (Maywood, US)

+024+

So far..there are only 5 images up. And 4 of them made me fall off my chair, so I am glad there is no more yet and that I will prepared next time! His work is wonderful, the coloures leave you almost blinded and the sx70-manipulation he does is marvelous!

wristeye (Wien, AT)

+025+

Morbid-lover and very kind and open guy. From Vienna, which makes it even better obviously!!
He is a cameraman as a secret source tpold me and he was so kind to offer help in the film-area where I want to float into gently and slowly!
His work is amazing. He captures very twilight-like moods as well as crazy madness or really raw images..not to forget the lyrical poetical approachh of his subjects.
His joy experimenting is visible in almost every piece of his gallery.
And it gets more and more. Keep submitting, dear, I enjoy your pictures!

bonnie (Ann Arbor, US)

+026+

My sistah in slappin' and tickling bitches. We got the 50/50-deal..and she has wonderful creative double exposures and very colourful "collages" in her gallery. She submits in waves, stays silence and then submits a loadof images which is wonderful as it makes you so happy t see something new.
Maybe she is the Mama of Polanoid? She gives love where she can and takes care of everyone. Very social and yes, she is very beautiful!
her images are very varied, you find colur images as well as black 6 white combination. You can discover solo-images, pairs, narrations, images layn over oneanother, selfportraits, objects, friends, the list goes on and on.

So gooo check her out if you haven't already!

OuroborosX (New York, US)

Maybe he is one of the closest men to me on this site. His artork always reaches right into me, through my throat and into my heart, shakes and stokes it and then leaves me in trance. The images ar...very varied in mood, yet they have a strong continuity which cannot be denied. again, the wonderful and fascinating mix of "snap shot" and art is striking; you will find images that seem just snapped and the next image, very similar to it, reaches your heart effortlessly, immediately, without compromise. They are raw dreams, they are direct entrances to his soul, they are foggy yet transparent captures of moments that move him and effect his life, be it love that leaves, a baby that is born or a trip to the airport with a friend. He keeps his gallery like a journal, shares fragments of his most inner thoughts and what is maybe the most precious part of his work; he combines it with words that make you hold you breath and stare at the image yet another row of minutes after you read them. He has a gift in his "easy writing" which is so lyyrical and thought through as it seems intuitive and free, floating, soft and open. I feel so specia, as everyone maybe should, to get something this close to him handed over.It is a gift. PLEASE jump over your shadow of laziness and READ his poetry, it goes down your throat like warm honey-milk..no matter how sad , how suffering, how hopeless or seemingly "unimportant" daily and random.

an extract:
"i want to tell her everything, again... maybe she'll get it this time... maybe this time it will be different... the light changes... we walk in silence... it's too cold for tears... i guess that is all the divine intervention i can expect... "goodbye liad"... a hug... she's gone... damn, it's fucking cold in new york..."

Wonderful and surrealy soft fashion like images, well staged and organized, as well as beautiful details and coloures. I enjoy his models, his ideas. Some are very simple but others really have something to them. Enjoy his work, he has alot to share!

Interesting work. Not fond of cropping polaroids unless it is done by real siccors but everyone needs to decide so on his own it seems.
His COLOURES are amazing, as are the little effects he gives to his visions. I enjoy his gallery alot and can only recommend you check it out!
His pola/photograms are wonderful!

So, this multi-layered man is the head of unsaleable.com & polanoid.net. His passion for polaroids, for art and for interactive communication made this site and obsession possible, so go and leave a thankful message in his guestbook afterwards.
His visions, ideals and goals drive him on and it seems like there is nothing that could stop him from achieving what ever he sets in his mind.
Despite his obvious energy and success in business he is the man to approach if you have questions about cameras, film or accessoires, not only in getting them (unsaleable.com)but also when you have troubles, questions or worries.
Within his stressful life he also finds time to develope his personal artistical skills which he denies when addressing it, but his images tell a different story and I smell more images in his boxes, where ever he hides them .And we want more.

His lovely daughter Hannah is at polanoid as well, right below. :-)

Okay, I have a thing for bed-images and stumbled upon this lovely one of him with the flu....flu is evil, but men with flu in bed are the best ever!

And then I checked out the rest of his work and he is magnificent, proves how wonderful the JoyCam can be if used well! He is truly gifted and his gallery is pure joy to wander:

lhirondelle (Hanoi, VN)

+036+

Such wonderful blue images. Professional photography. Perfection.
His latest work mainly treasures square black & white shots, usually very dark, not at content, but visually, though, yes, they have a dark feeling about them as well. Some pre-tastes for you to chew on before you click his name and enter his gallery yourself:

granthamilton (Iowa City, US)

+037+

Okay, talking about continuity _ this guy has it! The coloures, the style, the tones, the feel of each shot, their well composed and thought through simplicity is just breathtaking. It is so relaxing to see work like his. Check him out, the coloures already will blow your socks off:

OH I LOVE his gallery, as it started blooming, flowering, blossoming and growing all over the place of polanoid; slowly but in beautiful shapees and coloures. Why the "plant-like" allusion? Because I find his work very organic and alive even if he portraits buildings etc.
His latest images are amazing, enjoy his sepia/brown/greenish intensively contrasted yet soft transfers of lines, animals and children, it is endlessly beautiful!

Very trashy, soft, sepia-ish, lonely or crowded, abstract or obvioius, emotional or neutral images, very varied and an eye for the hidden.
Love his work.
I think his work is very touching, even if objectively "neutral" and rarther observing, which might be subjective but I thought I'd point it out.

liebestraume (Sydney, AU)

I love her latest packfilm uploads. Her work is starting to make a ccurve to something new, she is on the roll now, her expression gets better and better, black and white seems to be her thing, I hope she continues developing her ba-shots and double exposures, they are so wonderful, I am so excited and anticipated what else this wonderful young woman will come up with, I'm sure, she will surprise us more and more!

Also, she i one of my strongest supporters here at polanoid. Each time I aubmit something she is there, analyses, associates, interprets, breathes my images in and writes down what she thinks about them, not only in praise but interestingly organized though freely associated, I love to read her words, she has something that makes you feel appreaciated in what you and write, and dear, I do thank you for that with all my heart!

Check her out! :)

She is new. She is soft. She is brilliant. Her coloures, her surroundings, her home, her loved one(s), herself...just inspirational, exploding with soft gentle stars of energy. Very romantically "voyeuristic" (to us) work. Please check her out and welcome her warmheartedly!

Her images are either raw and documentarily or very idealized. Her almost comical approach to images as well as a very unique aesthetical vision make her images unique and take their time to develope in the recepient's mental eye.
More than worth a visit!

I recommend viewing her pictures with someone else together, as she is so varied you sometimes miss a few things..it helped me.
And is a tipp that goes for viewing any pictures by any artist :-)

Lars is a true "photographer", if such thing exists. his images are photography, at least those that I feel to be his work basis and main work.
I am not sure how to describe it exactely, but he uses the medium simply for what it is. Only lately he started going in the painterly direction. I still feel his "photos" to be his ground. No idea if I am still making sense so let's hope the image examples can say what I am incapable to express at the moment:
