2013-11-28 // 06:33:07 Hi friends and strangers! Polanoid is still a great, ever expanding archive of instant photography and art. I feel proud and privileged to be part of this community from the early days. Just popped in to say thank you and send my love to Doc, WM wherever they are (who is the noidmeister?) and the crew who started this site. You will always be incandescent and continue to transmogrify my world!

2011-01-25 // 10:33:17 LOL, typing from a new browser tab, as I decided to test out Webbie (& krampus's) re-order pix beta page...only to realise that with the number of polas I have onsite and the internet speed (or lack of) that we have in Oztralia, it may take a while to load...
Greetings programs. |

2010-01-19 // 10:31:49 Oh Esther, that happens to me all the time! I cope by reminding myself that we are not really here (metaphysically speaking) - we are all just nodal points of vibration in super-string space.

2010-01-16 // 20:22:58 Ah VF - I was just winding you up :-)> (seems to have worked a bit)
What's all this negative vibe about toy cameras? I LIKE toy cameras (and have you seen how much LSI are asking for their 'toy camera' products?) Seeing as repetition is what it's all about btw VF, perhaps you are right, the news feed may be sometimes hard for people to see what went before for people too lazy (or bored by repetition) to click on the little previous entries box down there... I will restate: What point is there spending a lot of money on a redesigned SX-70 or whatever it is you were hoping for if the production (not to mention R&D costs) will bankrupt the company before it hits the shelves? There are a LOT more moving parts in a SX-70 compared to a 1000 type camera, which would mean (if they went down such a path) more cost tooling up a factory to produce and assemble these components (und so weiter)... Please get with the practical world! If you are going to accuse others of being obtuse, could YOU at least stop pretending to be obtuse yourself and acknowledge simple economic facts that any company has to operate with? Or do you have a big swag of investment you are prepared to put out there to put your money where your mouth is for the company? Let's face it - ANY new camera that shots instant Polaroid film & any new instant Polaroid film is a GOOD thing for Polaroid lovers & users out there (and isn't that all of US?) The fact is, these developments are definitely a BIG IMPROVEMENT on what a certain Mr Petters was doing with the company! (Capital letters to make things more obvious for the 'obtuse' amongst us) We can support it, or continue to be negative with no practical constructive suggestions (I mean cat's vomit? REALLY?) which hardly helps anything...I mean I know you must be passionate about this, given your responses and I do acknowledge your right to have an opinion - but once again, REALLY - what do YOU suggest that might be practical? Love you all, rant over, continue with your normal business... :-)> |

2010-01-16 // 13:08:14 LOL VF re: the new designs of camera looks like cats vomit - NO, here you are very wrong - cats vomit looks like cats vomit, this looks like a redesigned Polaroid 1000.
Everybody including yourself of course is entitled to an opinion and for almost every individual you will get a different opinion. We've heard yours already haven't we? Or do you like repeating yourself? Hurrah for a fresh opinion! Anyone? No...not you VF, unless it's something I HAVEN'T heard from you already! ;-P> |

2010-01-16 // 12:42:55 I like Sushi.
As for graphic UI's - the Commodore Amiga had a graphic 'windows' based UI before Microsoft did, don't know about Apple. AND I still think any new Polaroid camera has to be a positive step. Peace through photography. |

2010-01-15 // 12:30:55 re: the 'new' Polaroid 1000 cameras. Oh, I don't know. If true, I think they look kind of cool. I'm not sure what sort of economies the new owners of Polaroid are working with. There is no point spending a lot of money on a redesigned SX-70 or whatever it is you were all hoping for if the production (not to mention R&D costs) will bankrupt the company before it hits the shelves is there? Or am I simply being too pragmatic for all you beautiful dreamers?
@ VF - I don't believe Steve Jobs uses a PC for his home computer. As someone who used a PC for 6 years then switched to a Mac, I can only honestly say - I am NEVER going back (except when forced to use Windoze at work) ;-)> *and Happy 2010 to you too LiA! |
