@automatik, It's a flat postage fee. If you purchase a lot of film it works well.

@amuderick, there is a news article on the SavePolaroid site from the Expo. The Chinese Company rumour is mentioned here too....

@minpin & rodeo, I would be interested in going to the Polaroid Retrospective - can anyone go, or just members?

The Hayward has an exhibition that started today. It features Andy Warhol's Polaroid. Could fit in two shows in one day... Details below:

Robert Dean White, who was mentioned in an earlier link about the fraud case was the chairman of Zink. He founded the company after purchasing the technology off Polaroid. Tom Petters was also on the companies' board.

@VF, why the bad vibes? At least they tried. They're not stealing ideas, they're doing market research. Good on them for having a go in the first place.

@Matthew, you could just delete your pics, turn off notifications and walk away?....

What has brought you to this point?

2008-07-16 // 23:20:02

@VF, It's just that I have come to the realisation that sadley the chances of 600 film being produced by anyone else is very very very slim..... Fujifilm are the only company economically capable of producing 600 film. They make the negatives, they have the coating machines and coating technology, they have the reactors and chemists to make the paste... It's all down to whether they are interested in a market for 7 million Polaroid compatible integral packs a year....

2008-07-16 // 20:27:29

What is the point of rumors?..... They're not going to help.....

The only company capable of taking over 600 film production is Fujifilm, and they still appear not to be interested.

The factories in the states that manufactured the negatives (batteries too) closed months ago........

Half the equipment and machinery in the Dutch factory (that made 600 film) has been sold off, and I would imagine the manufacturing machines are being stripped down for scrap as we speak..... The site closes in October.
