So, secretly, when the girl's little brother sat atop the ladder at the end of Margate's pier, I quickly snapped a shot.
It's always the moments you don't expect that make a place. I'm not sure if this picture was taken to spite the bolshy sister who asked for a picture, or whether it was because it encapsulated everything about Margate...but either way, it means summer to me. Those carefree days of childhood confidence framed in nostalgia for my time long gone...
