It seems like I haven't been looking after him properly. Yesterday morning I woke up only to hear a light trundling sound above my head. I opened my weary eyes and brushed away the sleep and as the world revealed itself to me, a small, rosy face appeared in front of me. Slowly I realised it was my pet robot, Oms-B, who has always been very well behaved. He was holding a rather pitiful sign and he'd been working on through the night.

Now you may think I'm cruel, but really, I have always thought I was being wise and heeding the cautionary tales of people who personify objects and treat them like human beings. Toys wanting to be real boys, the tin man rusting, data in star trek....

There is another problem with young Oms-B- and this is the reason he wrote on a sign and didn't just tell me his woes...he has no mouth. So whatever can he mean, what am I to do?Am I to continue with this intolerable cruelty?
