Polaroid and other third parties manufactured many close-up accessory lenses for different model polaroid cameras. The close-up lens used here was not meant for the miniportrait but fitted perfectly over the lens barrell(s) of the miniportrait lenses, allowing me to focus at approx 9 inches from the subject.
