After Hours
While I was hanging around at Enschede waiting for Carmen, I for some reason became fascinated with this empty little cabin that was located down at the very end of a vast hall full of unused but profusely labelled and signposted machinery. Only 25 people now worked in this massive building - many of them had only been employed the previous week. The atmosphere was ususual - the echoing rooms and halls were a continual reminder of how big an operation this once had been; of all the people who must have worked here before the layoffs began. And now, one floor above me, a small group of machines had been cranked back into life.
I wandered around, wishing Brian was here. He'd have made much better use of these spaces than I could. But I played around on my own for a while, making ghostly pictures with my self-timer.
