The crawler
I was very lucky to see one of these rare monsters in my trip to the forest of Arcadia.
Locals call them "crawlers" and they say that despite their ugly appearance they are very friendly and peacefull creatures.They only feed with fear.
I was also told that there are only 14,15 of them, so i realized again how lucky i was to meet one.
I was driving in a forestal road in the area of Tricolono when i heard a very loud,clear and disgusting sound near me, something like a prolonged burping.I looked to my right and i saw this creature,this unbelievable being,struggling to move and making this awful noise.I grabbed my sx 70, got out of the car, approached it and took this photo.But it was impossible to take a second one.Because besides the awkward and loud noises that it was making, it was also damn smelly..It smelled like a mix of 5 years expired polafilm,chlorine and rotten potato.
So, i fast moved away and stood looking at it from a 10 meters distance with my nose closed.It didn't seem to be annoyed from my presence and it just crawled over the road.Then, it quietly disappeared.
I got in the car and continued my trip, wondering how peculiar and freakish sometimes the nature can be.
