Impossible Dream

Once upon a time I had a dream about an impossibly large SX-70 camera. I was preparing for a show that I'd been asked to participate in by a close friend and I didn't know what to do. After three nights of dreaming of the giant SX-70 camera (and film) I did know what to do. I built frames like this one (from nice sturdy oak) and had a couple of my (at the time) favorite images enlarged to 10x their original size.

Although I was never quite happy with the images I'd selected for this show I was always happy with the frames I'd built. I used some long forgotten woodworking skills, learned about mortise & tenon joints, and was able to satisfy myself in that regard. I still treasure those frames and will put one of them to use soon for another project I have in mind. A gallery of sorts. A personal gallery of Polanoid photos featuring some of the friends I've made here.

I was happy to have this photo selected as part of the Impossible Collection, although it's not my personal favorite from the 32 that I was privileged make. Most were crap. Sadly, I didn't pay enough attention to the details provided with the film. When my first order of PX100 arrives I will try to pay more attention. Rest assured, I will have fun.
