as the sun begins to set
it fills the western facing
piece of our home

every home was chosen
for the light that it received
so will be the next

moving again this fall
back to monterey bay
and then perhaps overseas
by the next summer
most likely germany
this is "the thing with feathers"
also known as "the hope"
