Tip:
..after lingering around the beast for days, I finally said to myself, OK, w-t-f - let's see if at least everything is working like it should. So I had all this parts (the back and the bellows, never used by myself, the filmholder, ditto, the plus ten years open old 809, chemicals felt nice but - ?, not to speak about the processor, and all that handling), but - WHATTODO?
So I guessed a simple self would be sufficient, and appropriate. The tiny technical goal (what would be life without challenges) was to have the sofa leveled and the circle on the wallpaper perfectly round though shot by an angle. And me somewhat focussed, carefully checked by stacking various stuff on the sofa as a placeholder. The rest of me, the proportions - a surprise. Maybe a little extra. I used a 210mm (like 105 on 4x5). So at least - fun, and a good learning curve.
Last but not least, a test for the film. And for that, Red it must be. Putting the (and, a) flower in my mouth is probably caused and inspired by just the way I am (that is, pragmatic but not afraid of romantic), a, concerning the long-term memory, old shot of LiA (you gotta search for that one on your own, as dead as this site is, it's the least I can do for it, having you stalking in old uploads), and concerning the short-term memory, certainly inspired by a Chrome Elizerman shared on flickr.
Nothing more. Nothing less.
LOVE 8x10.
[the wallpaper is from Ulf Moritz, for those who want to know. And it's tactile.]
ps/
a sofa levels once you sit on it, and a polaroid within a holder does the same
