S. first encounter with a flashlight (4 times, none of which did bother her), and my first encounter with a jamming chocolate pack.
Not too sure that it would be accepted for her first passport...

One would be wrong thinking that a pic is lost when the film jams.
So the real tips are :
1 it's always worth struggling in the dark to get a pic through the rollers
2 if what you finally get is not what you expected, expect the image you were waiting for to be on the next picture (then decide to multi-expose it or not).
