My Grandmother and Her Brothers
This photograph was taken in 1979, the first year that traveling to Cuba was made legal. My grandmother and mother visited their family, Her brothers (who have since passed) are on the left (I don't know the man on the right). My mother took this photograph at the bus station and when the picture came out of the camera, she says, they were surrounded by a hundred people. Nobody had seen a polaroid camera before. I recently found the camera and have tried to fix it all over the city, and beyond. There isn't anyone who can find the parts. It is terribly sad because this camera is like an heirloom to me.
