...he turned to look, but he knew there was nobody there.
There never was.
They never showed themselves to him.
He couldn't sit down, it was impossible in this state of mind.
His nerves where buzzing.
His head a world of shouting voices, stopping him thinking...even difficult to breath.
He couldn't sit down here, not in this silent, busy, noisy, empty place.
He turned, closed his eyes to better hear the voices, louder than ever, his footsteps would quieten
them.
He didn't look back as he left.
