Observatory
As a young lad, one of my favourite places to visit was the Royal Greenwich Observatory in Herstmonceux (a village near my home town).
I was into space exploration in a pretty big way, and these 1950s copper domes were an exciting taste of the space-age right on my doorstep.
Most of the telescopes are gone now, but the domes remain, just as intriguing as ever.
