Black Light Flower
close-up of a plastic flower bead that was on some of my old raver/kandykid jewelry

My intention here was that I wanted to break the cliche of flower pix by shooting a plastic flower bead illuminated in blacklight... as opposed to shooting a real, live flower in natural light- which I think is much too common and cliche and boring. I would like to think that this image may be more interesting than those flower pix that we are so used to seeing. For me... artificial, synthetic flowers are much more enjoyable than the real thing!

Tip:
690 Polaroid made in Vivitar Printer. Images were originally shot on expired slide film. Objects were shot in the dark and lit with a blacklight tube. Used a Canon Rebel Ti with macro lens.

This is a positive from a transfer that I did. I allowed the pos + neg to sit stay together longer than the recommended 15 seconds so I could have both a useable negative for transfer and useable positive for lift. I was going to use this for a lift but have decided not to... since I suck at emulsion lifts! This flower is far too pretty to risk losing to an unsuccessful lift!
