The killer had a purpose, an axe to grind, and a message, which he passed along with a polaroid sx-70 land camera. "Peace be with you..." As in, rest in PEACE...
The detectives recognized the killer's perversity, but had to acknowledge the genius of using this polaroid relic from the 1970s to leave mocking, taunting clues...couldn't do that with a digital camera, they surmised.
