seasons of greetings
with my time-zero i have recorded our stays at an inn on the north shore of lake superior. each time, when we arrive, the owner goes into her garden (during the months when there is a garden) to cut flowers to place in a vase on the guests' kitchen tables. she does this for all the guests, and the kinds of flowers gracing the tables depend on what is in season in the garden at that time of year. her husband carefully tends to the dahlias, which he digs up and dries out to be stored for winter, as it is too cold in minnesota to leave dahlias in the ground. this dahlia marks my last august visit to the north shore with my time-zero.
