Okay, so it's a dashiki. As a man with little cultural guideposts, aside from Guiness and bad teeth, when I see someone sporting ancestral garb, I feel immediately out of sorts. What am I to wear? A Viking's helmet? No, I can't do that and look nearly as cool as Lou in his muumuu. Especially as he's at the Madonna Inn, which makes everyone look good somehow. Not sure how. . not sure how the place isn't just tacky and unworthy of mention. Somehow it isn't. Somehow it pulls it off.
