These are figures based on a
concept sketch for R2-D2 and C3P0 by
Ralph McQuarrie. McQuarrie is a great illustrator and has created concept sketches for many movies. I can't help but feel that they did the right thing in redesigning these to make them more friendly looking. While these two are perfect for an Asimov story, they aren't as appropriate as the the designs that were chosen.
