The other day, I received my Save Polaroid t-shirt.
I'm a recent convert to the world of Polaroid. When I was small, my Mom bought me an SX-70 One Step for $1 at a yard sale. It was, perhaps, the worst camera I've ever used. As a result, I dissed Polaroid cameras as being inferior for years. After thinking about it for awhile, I realized I shouldn't judge them all on the basis of one camera. So, I bought a packfilm camera from the Flea Market. Now, about a year later, I'm addicted. And I got hooked just in time for the company to get out of the film business.
It's really sad. Polaroid has been killed by digital, yet for me at least, there's no comparison between the two. Polaroid has an immediacy that digital will never have. And as long as I can find film, I'll keep shooting it.
