A Caribbean wedding, Pigeon Point
As we sat on the beach, bein harrangued by lifeguards wanting to marry us, a wedding was setting up. In an hour a marquee was erected, along with an altar, seats, decorations, a steel pan band...
The groom was a tiny little man dressed in white linen. His best man really dwarfed him, and his bride wept for joy. It was small, and I guess what you would call 'intimate' besides the fact that all of us tourists were photographing like crazy.
I felt bad as the beach security guard who we were talking to refused to move the bench we were sitting on- so we almost ended up gatecrashing their wedding in our bikinis.
I was fascinated- I have not been to many weddings and this one was so public- it felt odd watching people get married - so lifechanging - just where we had been sitting. They were all dressed up and we were a couple of metres away wrapped in towels.
It was certainly a bit of a spectacle.
So anyway- here is their unofficial Polaroid wedding shot...
In some ways I am considering finding out who they are and posting it to them....it could be interesting.
They were Tobagonian - and it made me wonder, if you are from paradise, where the hell do you on on your honeymoon- to London?
