France2008: M is for Mandatory Motherfuc
*Just returned from France, where we spent most of our time in Paris. We did a home swap, meaning a great young Parisian couple we'd never met stayed in our home in Healdsburg, while we crashed their flat in Paris (20e). I will be uploading shots from this trip for the next few days. This will either bore you to tears, or you'll follow along during a not-so-chronological Polaroid-only retelling of our too-brief trip to France.
As in, you pretty much have to shoot the metro signs. Yes, I also snapped the great deco (or is it nouveau?) style signs, but this is my fave, right at our local stop, Porte de Bagnolet in/near Belleville. I've ridden a lot of metro/subways, and Paris can claim full bragging rights as having the timeliest, quietest and cleanest. Incredible!
