In the park pt. 5
So this friend I was visiting for her birthday - she was between jobs then, as they say. She posted her resume on monster.com and was starting to get calls from large corporations that were interested in hiring her. Here she is talking to someone at Turner Broadcasting about arranging an interview with the person that is now her boss. When they flew her out to Atlanta and showed her the CNN headquarters she was a little starstruck. But for the most part she decided to take that job because she was tired of working for small companies that never took her advice to heart and ended up making mistakes as a result. Apparently she is taken more seriously at the large corporation, which is a concept I still have trouble grasping.

Tip:
I strongly recommend scanning black and white film in color. Maybe I'm always viewing my photographs in yellow-shifted ambient light, but black and whites scanned with black and white scanner settings invariably don't resemble the tonal range of the photographs I hold in my hands. The usually blue-shifted white point of most displays these days probably does its part to make black and white scanned black and white photographs displeasing to me. But these...now that I'm scanning in color I get the warmth and the softness on the screen that I was missing previously.
