Still Pining
"Pining" is one of six plaster installations that are part of the Wild Life Sculpture Search project taking place at Boca Ciega Millennium Park in Seminole, Florida. The six installations are meant to naturally degrade over time without harm to the environment but to also showcase the effect of their degradation (or decomposition I suppose). You can see here the sculpture after it was installed, before it was vandalized and started to degrade due to weather and whatnot. The six plaster installations were created by the artist Leslie Fry. Another installation had to be removed completely do to repeat vandalism, fortunately this sculpture (which is my favorite) has not suffered that same fate of being removed from the park altogether. These sculptures have been in place for at least two (almost three) years now.
