Lower 9th Ward
Assigned to document this devastated community four years after Hurricane Katrina. I arrived feeling an overwhelming sense of detachment from my subject matter. It seemed four years of exposure to media coverage and disaster tourist had jaded the community. The only thing that felt right was to put down the digital and pick up the SX-70.
