The Last Ride To Nowhere
as they drove down the highway
passing the landscape in a hurried blur
she kept saying
"keep your eyes on the road"
then she asked,
"why are there no seat belts?"
he just grinned and said,
"that's the way the car came."
she later said it was so spooky,
when they got to the library,
she got out and disappeared between the columns of the old building
he just grinned and said
"that's the way the car came, I swear."
