Here we go with another practice shot. A miracle this came out at all, really, as the cat always moved somewhere else as soon as I'd focussed and inserted the polaroid cassette, forcing me to chase her and run around her with the camera, then remove the cassette so I could reframe and refocus, and then reinsert the cassette. At this point , of course, she'd move again.

In this case, I decided to trick her by just leaving the cassette in, sneaking around her with the tripod and taking a quick, chancy shot with no clue what the focussing and framing would be like. Jess looks slightly afronted that I've broken the rules in this way. Or perhaps she's just unnerved by the blue ghost that's shimmering on the footpath next to her.

I think my days as a wildlife photographer are over now.
