Cai Luong
Cai Luong which can be roughly translated as "reformed theater" or "renovated theater" in english, is a form of modern folk opera in Vietnam. It blends southern Vietnamese folk songs, classical music, and modern spoken drama.
It originated in Southern Vietnam in the early 20th century.
Born in Saigon, Huong Thanh comes from a family of renowned
traditional musicians. Her father
Huu Phuoc (†1997) was one of the most famous singers of Cai Luong,
