i didn't anticipate
the sort of grief that came
the uncontrollable sobbing
deep in my gut

15 yrs
half my life
Scout was/is family

my brother was with him
i am thankful he was
most thankful
and this has brought
my brother and i together
sharing in a way
that we haven't since
we were children
sharing a bedroom
crying together
even being able to say
those three little/big words
"i love you"
to one another
