Actually, I'm surprised at how tiny your ear seems here in relation to the rest of your head...
^
ok, hombre!
we can stay friends - exactly as long as such remarks are only about my *ears*!
got me?

thoroughly modern! cutting off your right ear with a laser beam....thank you for sparing us the "after" pic...

(ok. i suppose i'm ELATED to see you back, even if it means your head explodes ;-)

thanx, bee - and dont worry about my head or ears, everything is in its place..
actually I have to tell you that I found madame blavatzkys comment more interesting
she said "the utility of dreams is to fuel art"
I liked that alot - very flattering of course to hear this in context of this image

actually the "purpose of dreaming" is a damned exciting question, still far from being satisfyingly solved (though at least the majority of scientists today agree that nightly dreaming is physiologically necessary for mental and physical health..)
but of course the word has anotha meaning too, which I had in mind when I entitled the picture.
not the "outlandish, unfounded tales" people remember when being woken up during the REM stage of sleep - even though today it is commonly agreed that this kind of dreaming is also an active (though subconscious) process of the brain (may it be the cortex trying to make sense of random nonsense nervous impulses generated by the brainstem, may it be "reverse-learning" (the most hilarious theory in my opinion), or may it be an escape of the brain from reality...)
the second one is certainly a conscious active process - not an "escape" from reality - but rather an "anticipation" of it.
the necessary believing in an unlikely reality to make it come true eventually - yaknow, in the sense of "I have a dream"
like martin dreamt of brotherhood on the red hills of georgia (we must not give up the hope).. like the doc dreamt of a tasteful porn site that he could show his mother-in-law without embarrassment (ok, some dreams are just too silly)..

plutarch said "all people are in a common world while they are awake. but when we sleep, everybody is in a world of his own."
he was describing the rem-thing of course, but I like to see the purpose of the non-rem dreaming to be making a part of this "own" world a common one..

of course you knew how I meant it anyway - but I just so much love some smartass talks now and then, to prove that I'm not only a fucking goodlooking webmasta but also an incredibly intellectual, deepthinking one ;-)

You are beautiful.
This selfportrait combined with the dreamlike faults and reflections and lights, stars, moons and coloures is perfect. The lower line of flowers frame your chin area as if it were painted, planned.
This is my new favourite shot on this site, a touching portrait. What a come-back.
I'd love to see the original.

thanx, lia
intriguing analysis
I tend to see a tropic beach with my lovie leaning against a small hill, waiting for me - in the righthandside dream part (though it is only an ikea box actually)
btw. the original is sitting in breitegasse, you know.. ;-)
