Being a communist in Europe is ok. For some people is a lifestyle.
Being a communist in other countries is definately a way to live or to die.

hey comrade! thanks for liking:)
in italy we have a lot of choices because the former communist party split in three. there's a party which will soon join the left wing of the former christian party, they want to found the "democratic party", something i don't like much:)
then there's a party full of soviet union nostalgics (they try to hide it, but they can't fool an expert like me:)).
rifondazione comunista is the best:) we are a "modern" communist party, we want to solve the issues of this globalized world in a new way. we fight for peace, shared rights, justice for italy and for the poors and the labourers of the world through democracy:D
in my town all the three parties are powerful, in a way or another. there has always been a communist or socialist mayor of the town since the unity of italy, except of course the 20 years of fascism. the reason is the fact that we're the hometown of a great trade unionist. he's been the first mayor and he spent his life working to let the poors have their rights. he took the land from the big owners and gave a wheat field to every family. he's still the icon of the town, after more than a century.
if you want to move here i'm afraid they won't give you a wheat field but you will be welcome:)
