Silvana seems to imply that there's something wandering about this shot. A very inappropriate observation, to my mind. Dearest Carmen invokes poop, how very culturally consistent of her. And Brother James, well, he's marvelously consistent.

As to my review, I short you for two reasons. First of all, the film imperfections (adhesive? scuffing?) to the right of the ice cream cone are distracting. Secondly, the object protruding at 1 o'clock. Is that a twig? A straw? Very unclear. The rest of the shot is sheer glory. The clouds become the scoop, the scoop becomes the cloud, though bound by shadowy cone and impaled by ?. The expired film adds chance beauty, but The Shot must be measured by result every bit as much as intent as, post-development, The Shot exists outside of human machinations (yes, I'm stealing from Martin Buber's treatise on photography, but only to make a point).
