unfortunately i've never been in israel ... how was it? ... r u jewish?

^ no, i'm not jewish, but i've been many time for my work (and i lived there 98-99 in jerusalem.) i am an historian and university professor/my speciality is 19th-20th century palestinian history. the last time i was there was this past june and july. i've travelled all over the country, but jerusalem is my favourite place, because i love the way the faiths collide and life is lived around so much holiness (and holy tension, too, unfortunately.) it's unique and humbling. |
