I'm with Lia on this one regarding you, your gorgeous ma and the extraordinariness of the moment.

That way that you're such a fresh bundle of humanity, cradled in your ma's arm and the way that she gazes down at you with what appears to be calmness and a kind of neutrality in her facial expression...I imagine there is so much going on in her head right that moment yet it's not readily apparent to the outside world. I regard it to be a great portrait of the intimacy between a mother and newborn as such. Breathtaking, really.

May I add also that I envy your Polaroid past? To think that the emulsion of this photograph captured light the very day you were born...it makes me all warm and fuzzy and just ecstatic about analog photography.

It occurs to me that this might not be a Polaroid photograph, but blah. I really like the idea of it being one :-)

Damnit what a beautiful picture. You look so so tiny and sleepy and squashed, and DAMNIT your mother is..is such a beauty, its amazing, wow, thanks for sharing this picture, what a moment :-)
