2006-11-10 // 21:43:26 ulf I dunno, kay. I may be a bit conservative in my radicalism, but it sure does seems to have that opium for the masses quality that communists saw in organized religion...

Oh, you are absolutely right! Okay, I don't really know enough about communism to be able to judge if that's a valid comparison, but I totally agree on the "opium for the masses" part of your comment.
I also wouldn't say you're being conservative. I rather see your radicalism as a.. another way of expressing your opinion on the matter. (?! If that makes sense?) There's absolutely nothing wrong with that!
I just don't (can't) join in because while I can (easily) 'survive' without a TV, television does offer me things that I can.. appreciate. (Though I guess I wouldn't 'take action' even if it didn't. I'm just more of the "to each their own" type. I have my own [sometimes very strong] opinions on most issues, and I have no problem with voicing or defending them [at all! I often voice them unasked..], but I can't be bothered with 'educating' the masses. [Which doesn't mean I believe they shouldn't be educated! I just don't want to be involved in any of that myself.])

Not all television is bad, though!! (I sometimes really miss 3sat & Arte. ): And BBC Prime. And CNN. And all the music video channels. Watching videos on Youtube just isn't the same..)
