hope you don't mind me rambling in your comments box, but your words have highlighted something i feel strongly about.
i for one see nothing wrong with photoshopping a polaroid, it is just another creative tool, i hate analogue elitists.
now while most of my work here is out of a polaroid camera ... i wonder why it is that no-one minds when someone uses a bloody wildly expensive 5x4 view camera and sticks a polaroid back on it, giving them a massive variety of exposures and approaches, while someone who takes a great image on a fixed lens polaroid camera gets lambasted for adding to it by photoshop.
i have used 665 pol neg film and then printed from it .. i dodged and burned by hand on the enlarger and then toned the prints ... all analogue ... but is that any less valid than using the digital equivalent
lol .. sorry rant over ...
what i meant to say is ... magical shot :-)

:D you like to write when youre tipsy, yeh? ;) i kind of agree. but essentially for me i enjoy polaroid for the instant gratification of seeing something in front of me and then seeing it captured forever on paper, and with nothing inbetween, nothing whatsoever. i've experimented with manipulating pictures in photoshop, and i suppose it's not much different to adding gimmicks like lichen and sunglasses, but it still feels a bit like the 'easy' way to make an ok image look special. whereas what you do requires time and skill and craftsmanship. and to me that's different to photoshop - which is just... yeh.. easy. which is why i felt i needed to justify that the weird dark effects here were due to the conditions of taking the photo. because i think it might look 'done'. abd anyway, my favourite pictures here are my expired time zero ones- and that;s most likely due to the effect of the expired film.... the photos would not be as effective on 600, imo. so again i rely on a 'trick'.
okay, i do agree with what you say, and i'm not even convinced of my own opinions. i'm feeling low and in need of sleep. thank you for taking time to write. rambling always welcome
