As for the black bar across the top, I'm not so sure that's x-ray damage. It looks a lot more like the shutter isn't syncronized properly with the flash (i.e. the shutter is partly covering the film when the flash goes off.) Try taking an outdoor photo in bright light with the same film and see if the bar goes away. If the bar is gone, then it's a flash/shutter sync problem and the camera will need to be repaired.
