2006-12-29 // 02:03:03 brother_james On the 25th of December, at noon, my dad got into his car to go and pick my grandparents and bring'em back at our home for the annual post-xmas meal..
I turned on the TV and saw JB on stage and the speaker's voice was saying something like "He will remain as one of the greatest Funk/Soul artists ever..."
I understood what happened.
I said SHIT.
My dad came back. I told him JB was dead. My dad is the one who grew the Funk/Soul exquisite seed in me.
We both felt very sad for the rest of the day.
Xmas was a bit bitter then.
So now I do the vote and I do the fav in polarememberance of JB.
2006-12-29 // 01:06:43 sixblueten sadness. remember seeing him live a few days after he got out of prison...must have been twelve years ago....was old and round but still profound (no,not like charles barkley)..with maceo and many of the original all-stars....not sure about sharpton's media blitz, but that's the cynic in me.
say,i picked up a 690....have yet to shoot.
if the polanoiders understand the significance of this man, they will vote SOTD left and right.
