Snails are boys-girls simultaneously, so i suppose they don't need to make much effort to impress others!

^ hmm. although the ralley possibility is tempting to me, too, i think that this hermaphroditic- argument is on weak feet. they still need someone to mate with..and that it wonīt be indifferent whoīm to mate with - they probably want the best they can get- ( the one with the prettiest stripes) (hmm. i should tattoo me some stripes, too) |

^ ok. so thereīs either a design department, or these stripes give some kind of advantage. a) ralley stripes..the snail is much faster b) camouflage c) makes it look older to other snails (donīt know anything about this, but i suppose, the more "circles" such a snail-shell has, the older the snail..and only good, clever, fit, snails get old..so maybe itīs a signal for their "girls". |
