This might sound a bit daft, but I think, sometimes, Polaroid photos work because there's a strange stillness about them, (I can't really think of a better word to use than that - I hope you get what I mean). It seems to happen most often with simple subjects, like this one. It's good, a good quality to have in a photograph...!
