so she's got Bionic hearing now? ask her if it makes the bionic sound when she tries to hear something from far away!

^ well, not really. maybe in a few months. she's actually got crazy gross stitches so far.

wow, please keep us posted, it would be incredible if the surgery truely worked, i cant imagine being able to hear after a life time of muffled silence... the best of luck to her

^ it's actually a pretty long process. she has a device implanted behind her ears in the area where her cochleas are right now, they're all stitched up and healing. in a week or two, they're going to 'install' the 2nd part of the cochlear implant, which is an outside transmitter that magnetically attaches to the internal device and transmits outside sound to it. its a little complicated, haha. many people have had cochlear implants. ive heard that people that have the surgery dont really hear exactly what hearing people do though.
